Black Oaks Center for Sustainable Renewable Living is now accepting applications for the 2011 CommUnity Resilience Residency.
This is the year of Train the Trainers at Black Oaks Center. If you are a leader or want to be groomed to be a responsible leader in your community to assist your family, friends, temple, church or mosque and neighborhood in being resilient to the transitions our environment, economics and energy access is going through, you must make space in your life to have this experience. Mature teens and adults who are interested in having hands on experience in the four skills building tracts are encouraged to apply:
Fellows and interns will be immersed in sustainability principles, processes and practices daily including plant care, animal care, earth building construction, biodiesel production, disaster preparedness, the cultivation and making of plant medicines and more. Persons with extensive experience in any of these areas should apply for the fellowship. Room and collective meals will be provided to allow residents to focus on bootstraps grassroots building of social enterprises that will provide shared income opportunities:
The duration of the residencies are dependent upon the applicants availability. 1 week is the minimum requirement. A 3 to 6 month stay is preferred.* *All residents upon accomplishment of key learning objectives in all 4 skills building tracts will be eligible for permaculture certification.
