About the event

The IL EATS Producer Orientation event is a crucial opportunity for local farmers and ranchers to learn about and participate in the IL EATS program. With the state of Illinois requesting farms to answer a $28.8 million call to feed residents, this event provides valuable information on how producers can benefit from this initiative. Co-sponsored by Think Regeneration, the event aims to empower farmers, particularly disadvantaged ones, by providing resources and support to supply locally grown food to food-insecure and underserved communities. With Black Oaks Center and Runaway Buckers playing key roles in distributing food to Pembroke, this event marks a significant step towards restoring farming as an economic driver in PHP and ensuring a sustainable, equitable food system for all.
